Studance gathers specific information from users for purposes:

  1. Account Information for Students: Upon registration, Studance collects and processes personal data including login credentials (username and password), first name, last name, and email. Optionally, users can sync Google and Studance Calendars. Additional data may be added to aid scheduling but this is voluntary.
  2. Account Information for Tutors: Tutors provide registration details such as login credentials, first name, last name, and email. Similar to students, tutors may choose to sync Google and Studance Calendars. Tutors have the option to include more data in their profiles, and bio, like zip code, country, language skills, education, and work experience.
  3. Subscription to Studance Blog: For blog updates, users provide their email address upon subscribing.
  4. User-Submitted Information: Voluntarily shared data, like survey responses, online form submissions, questions, comments, and feedback, are processed.
  5. Service Use, Cookies, and Technology: Studance monitors and analyzes web traffic and user behavior during service usage. Refer to our Cookie Policy for more details.
  6. Billing Information: Transaction details from activities on the Studance Platform are processed.
  7. Handling Sensitive Data: Sensitive data is processed only with user consent.

Affiliates and Change of Ownership: In the event that we are involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your personal data may be sold or transferred as part of that transaction. Other Users of Studance Platform: Your member profile and information that you post or share, such as tutor bio, educational background, city and state, rate, photos, reviews, comments, suggestions, and information about you or your experience, may be seen and shared with other Users of our Service. You should therefore think carefully before deciding what information you share. Studance shares a minimum amount of personal information between tutors and students in order to facilitate the arrangement of tutoring sessions, including, your first name and last initial, city, photo, and details about the tutoring services you seek or provide. Messages to students also, contain tutors’ usernames, which include the tutor’s first and last name.
  6. Law and Public Interest: Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Privacy Policy or controls we may otherwise offer to you, we may preserve, use, or disclose your personal data or other safety data if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the safety of any person; to protect the safety or integrity of our platform, including to help prevent spam, abuse, or malicious actors on our services, or to explain why we removed certain accounts from our Services; to address fraud, security, or technical issues; or to protect our rights or property or the rights or property of those who use our Services. Typically, personal data remains on Studance as long as your account remains active. Upon account deletion or expiration, we commit to eradicating your personal data from our active systems and servers within 90 days or sooner.

n instances of ongoing conflicts, personal data may be retained for extended periods to facilitate the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims. Upon conflict resolution, personal data is deleted once standard retention timelines conclude.

In alignment with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or other obligations, we may retain select personal data for extended durations.

Personal data acquired during mailing list or newsletter registration is stored for as long as your interest endures. Unsubscribing through links provided in our emails indicates waning interest.
